I was sitting in my car in the city centre of glasgow scotland waiting for a member of my family, so to pass the time i got out my little canon powershot a460 digital camera, wound down my window and recorded the sound of the heavy traffic driving past my car. This sound of mine is for anybody to use, no credit needed, but it would be fun if you can let me hear how you used the sound, if possible, that would be fun. This is a recording i got sat outside a retro clothes shop on portobello road in london. Distant music combined with the market and people walking past creates a busy scene with the busy road that runs over the top of the market giving a nice base to fill out the recording. This sound is free to use but i'd love to see what it is used in!.

I left the recorder locked and unattended in the car whilst we went and did a bit of shopping. It was raining, breezy and the car was parked under a tree in a busy city centre car park next to a main road. You can hear cars passing at different speeds, the rain on the windscreen, doors opening and closing and muffled, distant voices. Zoom h1, internal mics, 50hz high pass at 6db/oct to reduce rumble.

This was recorded on an iphone 6 at a small and crowded seafood restaurant in dallas, texas. The table where the recording device was located was near the opening of the kitchen.

His daily in an apartment in marseille. The stereo microphone (zoom h4) are in the kitchen and remain at a fixed point. Recorded this from my 2nd floor balcony in lisbon, portugal. It closely overlooked a small street in which restaurants had set up outside dining. Many people were out this evening, eating, talking and laughing.

The sounds of traffic, honking, cheering, and groups of people shouting. Taken from my window in downtown seattle right after the seahawks won the 2014 super bowl. Mic used: blue yeti (usb condenser mic, cardioid pickup pattern).

Rear channels of a 4ch-surround recording of the interior atmo of a small airbus passenger airliner (a lufthansa flight from london heathrow to berlin tegel). In the onset, you hear the steady drone of the jets, people talking, coughing, sneezing, newspapers rustling and notebook computers being typed on. Now and then, passengers and stewardesses pass by the aisle. Near the end, a signal bell sounds, and the drone of the jets takes on a perceivably higher tone, shortly after which the landing in berlin is announced, first in german, then in english. Recorded with a zoom h2, the mics (rear) set to 120° dispersion.

Ambience onboard the red funnel car ferry to the isle of wight. The ferry was busy and i don't think a single person was listening to the safety announcement. Olympus ls-5, built in mics, 25hz hpf.
